Mama & Baby Singing
Postnatal Singing for nourishment, body recovery, community & joy!
What is postnatal singing?
Postnatal singing and this Mama & Baby Singing is for new mothers and babies. Designed as a space for you to be with other mothers together to share your experiences and to sing songs that are grounding, nourishing and fun. Singing greatly increases oxytocin and endorphins in the body and also helps to repair diastasis recti and the pelvic floor.
You do not need to be a singer or have any singing experience. The exercise are simple and meditative, the songs are in comfortable ranges for all to enjoy.
Mental Health Benefits
Research has shown that mother’s who sing regularly have lower instances of postnatal depression. Singing lowers cortisol levels and increases endorphins and oxytocin. It is nature’s remedy, always at your disposal.
Physical Health Benefits
Singing works the muscles of the stomach and the pelvic floor. Doctors and midwives agree that singing is an important part of postpartum recovery. It is also fun to do!
Mother - Baby Bonding
Vocal interaction between mother and baby increases bonding and socialization. Songs are the first musical education of the baby and help to soothe an infant much more easily than without. Your baby loves your voice more than anyone else’s!
Community
It is important to have a community that surrounds you in the early days of motherhood. In each session, there is time for you to share and speak with other mothers who are experiencing similar things as you.

About Me
Hello! I am Kendy, mother of two boys, holistic vocal teacher, doula and musical artist. It is my passion to empower people through their voices and to create community.
Singing in pregnancy, birth and in postpartum is as old as humanity itself, but as with most things we have forgotten the potent tool that is our voice. How wonderful to live during a time that we begin to remember that we have so much power within ourselves!
My first birth was in 2018 and I spent my pregnancy focusing my singing practice on connection with my baby, the power within me and to prepare for my birth. I used my voice in both of my births and it was a way to seek comfort and find strength. I knew I wanted to share these exercises so that other could benefit.
I have been teaching prenatal and postnatal singing groups and individual and partner sessions for six years now. The work is always profound and it is amazing to hear from mother’s who used these vocal techniques during birth and in postpartum to stay grounded and nourished.
I believe in you and in the power of your voice.
Nourish your pregnancy, empower your birth and support your postpartum through this transformative offering.
